Exploring the 2 x tables!

The Tui and Whio maths groups explored the 2 times tables today.

We realised that the 2 times tables is the same as skip counting in 2's and using our doubles facts.

We watched this video that shows how they are connected really well. Enjoy!

Our ANZAC Wordle

Today at oral language time we did a 3-2-1 activity where we shared 3 words about ANZAC day with our first partner, 2 words with our second, and our favourite or most interesting word with our last partner.
We came up with some amazing words about ANZAC Day.

We had quite a few children attend an ANZAC service yesterday.

Lucy's action packed American Adventure!

Lucy wrote us a very long email about her holiday in America - She has been doing SO MUCH!
I will read it to the class on Thursday.

Katie's Marlborough Sounds Adventure!

Marlborough Sounds  5^th- 10^th April 2012

We went to the Sounds and we stayed with our friends. 

Their names were Emily, Olivia and Yvette and Darrell.

We went biscuiting and kayaking and Yvette had a shower room out in the garage and we saw this big, big spider!

Maggie's holiday adventure!

I can't wait to see you again tomorrow, we went to Nelson this week to see our cousins, we went biking at Kaiteri. I fell off two times.

Anna's holiday antics

Hi Mrs Watson

I have been staying at my Nana’s house in Foxton Beach. It has been awesome. Nana has about 13 swan plants and it is too hard to count the caterpillars. We have seen two chrysalis’s hatch and have seen lots of caterpillars go into their chrysalis. We have also been lucky enough to see a baby caterpillar come out of its egg, it was so tiny.

I was also lucky enough to see a stick insect. When we were here at Xmas time, I took a picture of a brown stick insect and this time we saw this green one.

Mackenzie's Fantastic Thesaurus!

Mackenzie was leading her learning today when she got out our class thesaurus to look for different words to use instead of fun at writing time today. Well Done Mackenzie!
